True Love | Paul & Arlyn

Paul and Arlyn met on Memorial Day weekend on a cruise with mutual friends.  They didn't start "officially" dating until weeks after the cruise.  After their first date, they met each other at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church to attend mass. What a wonderful way to start off a relationship with great powerful faith.  They married in the same church where their faith in GOD will shower them with a strong marriage.
Paul and Arlyn were blessed with 3 baby angels. Alyssa (12/20/01), Kaitlyn (8/8/02) and Shaun (7/26/06)… When she told me of their story, I was deeply saddened.  I asked myself how did they get through such a tremendous loss, not 1 time but 3.  When I met them, I knew...Their love is so so powerful and their faith is their foundation that truly binds and pulls them through.
I was truly blessed to work with these two and witness their love that they have for one another first hand.  It's not often you see a couple like these two, holding hands and the love oozing out of there eyes, LITERALLY!  Sammy and I looked at each other a couple of times and just said, "Aren't they soo darn cute?"  The images speak for themselves, you can see and feel the love in every shot.
A day after their shoot, Arlyn texted me:

"P and I cannot stop talking about how much fun we had yesterday.  It was a very long day and we are very grateful for yours and Sammy's time...positively memorable.  For me, it's like I fell in love with him all over again :)"

I am lost for words!  After watching the two of them, I fell in love with them!!

Many Many thanks and kisses to you wonderful people!!! :)

My favorites | The Slaughter Fam

When we moved out to SD we did not know a soul!  We were new to the neighborhood and we had to make some friends.  The first friend I made out here in SD was with Lyn.  Our kids went to the same day care and we somehow started talking...The guys met because of us and now, they are our family...So, taking there family pictures was just a tremendous honor considering they have not taken one in 6 years...Let's not wait another 6 years.

Janelle the BS(er) | 1 of a series of 8

Janelle...She made her appearance very early...Mom and Dad were not quite ready for her just yet and not ready for the uncertainty that came along with it.  Janelle was due August 16, 2007 but decided that she wanted to make her appearance on May 16, 2007.  She was born weighing in at 2lbs and 2 oz.  Can you image how little that is?  During her stay in the hospital she battled many health issues that a preemie faces but she put up a fight...And here she is now,  4 years old and beating all the odds that doctors had put on her plate.  She is a little chatter box and can tell by her speech that she is a little genius.

Today though, she had a message she wanted to share...A message to her loved ones that she knows will just be joyous!  She wanted to let you know that, she has a BIG SISTER ALERT!!! message...mama's got a bun in the oven!

Mommy asked if I could follow her  family as their new little one is growing...offering them prayer, love and documenting the growth of the little peanut!  We hope and pray that this little guy/gal has a safe arrival.

Ryah Reese | Her Day!

I can’t say that I’ve been to a Baptismal before of this magnitude…Well, first off the Baptism was held at the Cathedral of our Lady of the Angels.  This church is breathtaking.  You seriously have to take a minute or two to take it all in.  It had been a long while since I’ve seen the Lubas family, I mean a long time.  I think I may have been in high school or something.  It was really nice to see the parents of Rebecca and Richie again.  It just brought me back to the days when we were just kids, ice skating and all.

It was Ryah Reese’s Day…her day to be anointed and blessed by holy water and be welcomed into the Christian world with lots of love.  There is no doubt that this little girl is loved by many.

The family continued to celebrate at the Kyoto Hotel…The banquet room was beautifully decorated by her ninang (http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/LOVEab-Designs/121766417887452  and her blog www.blogloveabdesigns.blogspot.com) .  The beautiful images placed at each table with large images at the head table just topped it off.  Ninang decided on color palette and had designed all party favor labels/signs.  She did an outstanding job!  Way to go ninang!

Miss Ryah was passed around from table to table being showered with love by all.  The love and admiration mommy and daddy have in their eyes when they carried her is just beautiful to see.  Well, actually anyone who carried her had such joy in their faces.   This is surely an event that she will be reminded of every year, remember mom & dad!
